Handblown Glass Dahlia
This Glass Dahlia Pendant radiates a luminous beauty, and captures the delicate geometry of nature. Each leaf is drawn in a pattern around a central dot design, creating a mesmerizing floral symmetry. Handblown with precision and care, this pendant is a miniature jewel of light and color, evoking the delicate wonder of a blooming flower.
How It’s Made: I begin with a clear glass tube, blowing it into a large bubble. Thin strings of colored glass are pulled and carefully applied to create a central dot pattern. From there, I draw geometric V-shaped petals radiating outward, layering the pattern repeatedly up to seven or eight layers. Once drawn, the bubble is slowly melted back into a solid form, flipped, and the tube end is trimmed. Excess glass is cleared to create a crystal-clear window, revealing the layered floral design, and the back is coated in sparkled black glass to help the colors pop.
