This pendant begins as two glowing gathers of molten borosilicate glass that are pressed into smooth glass pucks. I apply colored glass lines with opaque cores to each end before the pucks are fused back together, forming a large marble with a bold, candy stripe band running through its center.
I slowly stretch the marble into a thick rod and tightly twist it, capturing a vivid spiral inside the clear glass. Small drops are then pulled from this rod and twisted on each end, further shaping the encased swirl and giving each pendant its tear drop shape. Then I fuse a clear, hand-formed glass bail onto the top to complete the necklace.
