I start this pendant by blowing a thin glass bubble, which serves as the canvas. Using a fine pointed tool, I carefully scratch the initial design directly into the bubble. I then use ultra-thin black glass stringer, held in a mechanical pencil for precision control, to hand-draw every line of the portrait.
Once the linework is melted into place, I use custom hand-mixed colors pulled into thicker glass strings and carefully fill between each line. This step requires steady heat control to preserve the original drawing without smudging the details.
I build the entire image from the front to the back, layering the design in reverse. Once the artwork is complete, I flip the disc so the original front becomes the viewing side, sealing the image inside the glass and locking the details into place. --------- ---------- ----------- -Size: 2.1 inches tall x 1.7 inches wide -This trainer pendant comes strung on a black cotton cord with adjustable slip knots so it can be worn long or short. -The back of this pendant is signed and dated by me (BAM 2026) -Made in Northern Wisconsin. -Pendant has been annealed in a digital kiln to strengthen and remove all stress in the glass.
