This glass coral reef implosion pendant is made with a bunch of detail, to make you dream of the sea! I blow out a large, thin, clear bubble and pull down multiple strings of colored glass. I use different colors of glass and techniques to "paint" dots, reefs, spirals, and twists to create a bustling ocean reef. All colors are custom mixed for the reef pendants. I make my own latticinio twists for the coral.
After the scene is "painted" on the glass surface, it is very gently and slowly melted back into a solid glass puck. Then I flame cut the glass handle and flip the pendant around so the painting on the back shows through the clear front. I continue to heat the edges and allow it to slump around the colors, while pressing it flat on a graphite marver. This causes the coral reef scene to implode deep inside the glass. This gives a beautiful ocean like reef with so much depth. --------- ---------- ----------- -Size: 1.8 inches tall. -This Coral reef pendant comes strung on a black cotton cord with adjustable slip knots so it can be worn long or short. -The back of this pendant is signed and dated by me (BAM 2026) -Made in Northern Wisconsin. -All pendants have been annealed in a kiln to strengthen and remove all stress in the glass.
