This silver-fumed spiral galaxy marble captures the look of a deep vortex frozen in glass. I start with a clear borosilicate core, then heavily fume the exterior with pure silver to create ethereal, misty tones suspended within the clear surface. I draw thin clear lines around the fumed layer to trap the silver in place, forming delicate swirling ribbons of light.
I bring the whole piece to a molten state and give it a slow, deliberate twist, aligning the patterns into a spiral reminiscent of a distant galaxy. When viewed from the front, the design pulls the eye inward with a vortex-like depth, giving the illusion of falling into a swirling cloud of silver light.
The back of the marble features an intricate floral pattern created by layering and melting dots of different colors, carefully stacked and shifted to build depth and a mesmerizing, blooming effect. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -Size 1.6 inches/ 42mm and comes with a plastic marble stand. -The marble is signed and dated, by me, on the side (BAM 2026) -Photos were taken with indoor led lights. -Made in Northern Wisconsin. -Glass marble has been annealed in a digital kiln to strengthen and remove all stress in the glass.
